Title: Predicting the next 15 years of AI in Healthcare

Abstract: Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing healthcare, offering the promise of earlier, more accurate diagnoses, personalized treatments, and streamlined operations. But what's next? This presentation from NIDUS Lab explores the key trends and challenges that will define the future of AI in medicine over the next 15 years. We'll examine cutting-edge technologies like generative AI – the engine behind tools like ChatGPT – and their potential to revolutionize radiology, diagnostics, and patient care. We'll also tackle the critical data challenges that will either greatly accelerate or hinder AI's progress in healthcare. Join us as we navigate the ethical landscape and offer concrete predictions about the future of AI in medicine.

Biography: Adam McArthur is a Graduate AI Researcher in the NIDUS Lab at the University of Alberta and an Open Source Engineer at G-Research in London England. He is passionate about improving healthcare through carefully considered technology and is a strong advocate for open-source principles. He is collaborating with partners across the world to enhance the reliability, trustworthiness, and efficiency of AI in Radiology, mostly focussing on Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

Do come and join us for finger food and great conversations.

Students get a chance to talk to potential employers as well as startup companies at the monthly events. Internships may also be available for those seeking career change or explorations of new working environments. You can also meet mentors, mentees (CIPS Alberta Mentors and Mentees Program) and advisors from HR companies at the DAMA Edmonton monthly meetings who can guide you on how to enhance your resume or indeed how to improve your interviewing skills.

We look forward to seeing you in person on January 30th.
